Process thinking, applied to energy data
I trained as an industrial engineer, which is really a training in looking at a system, finding where time and value leak out of it, and fixing the process rather than the symptom. I have spent my career since 2017 at Hitachi Energy applying that lens to energy trading and risk management — a domain where the process is a trade lifecycle and the leaks show up as manual reconciliation, stale positions and reports nobody trusts.
The data science came from the same direction. Forecasting demand and volumes, testing models against what actually happened, and building the reporting layer that puts those numbers in front of people who have to decide something before the market closes. I work mostly in Python, SQL and Power BI, inside TRMTracker, and increasingly with LLM-assisted tooling for the documentation and analysis work that used to eat whole afternoons.

- Gather requirements from trading, scheduling and settlement users and translate them into functional specifications for TRMTracker, covering the lifecycle from deal capture through to invoicing.
- Build forecasting and analytical models in Python and SQL, and deliver them as Power BI reporting used for position, exposure and volume analysis.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to map recurring operational processes and cut manual handling out of reporting and reconciliation work.
- Coordinate testing, UAT and release activity in JIRA across business stakeholders and engineering, keeping specification, test evidence and delivery in step.
